  • (July,19,2003) Original background music is added, thanks to Steve "Fash" Harrison.

  • (July,12,2003) Sound options are added (volume of sound effects and music can be changed)

  • (July,10,2003) xm, mod support is added for background music and sound effects, which makes game size much smaller

Description

It is a remake of the game for Atari 2600 "Slot Racers" by Warren Robinett. For me it was fun, learning and... fun again. Though it took away some evenings and weekends. The goal is simple just win before your opponents will.

It is a programming exercise for me, but it turned out as a 3D designer, 2D designer, sound designer, level designer and so on exercise. I hope someone will help me with all that stuff.

Windows2000/XP Version 1.1 ssr.zip(3Mb)
Linux version is not planned, but if you really would like to see it, please let me know.

Features of the source code:

  • COB loader (trueSpace format)
  • Sound manager (based on OpenAL and audiere)

The code was designed to be platform independent, and, eventually, this project will become an open source project. I do not when exactly it will happen, but if you have any questions feel free to contact me. Also have a look at Want to help? section.

Required libraries for compilation:

  • sjgui - graphic user interface used in the game
  • boost - thread support
  • OpenAL -sound support
  • audiere - music support
  • STLport - standard template library (for compiling with VC)
Make sure you properly installed and compiled described libraries before compiling my source code.
